A STEP in the Right Direction

The Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) and the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) recently announced collaborative awards for the Ohio Grant Program addressing educator shortage. Awards totaling $5.2 million will be shared among 29 four-year public and independent colleges and universities that have chancellor-approved educator preparation programs.

Madeline Kraft '16 and Callan Swaim '16 have truly taken to heart Wittenberg's motto of "Having Light We Pass It On To Others,鈥� giving countless alumni the chance to do the same. Over the past 18 months, Kraft and Swaim have teamed up with various departments at Wittenberg to create and grow a mentoring program that connects current students with successful alumni in their chosen field of study.

Wittenberg鈥檚 Russian and Central Eurasian Program is sponsoring a special event focused on the ongoing crisis between Russia and Ukraine. Professors James Allan, Yu Bin, Molly Wood, and Lila Zaharkov will share their expertise in an open discussion at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, in Bayley Auditorium of the Barbara Deer Kuss Science Center.
